This project revitalized an outdated commercial building’s exterior, turning it into a vibrant, welcoming space. A carefully curated plant selection introduced rich textures and colors, providing the perfect framework for unique stonework that enhanced the building’s curb appeal.
ADA-compliant ramps and an upgraded parking area were seamlessly integrated into the design. A half-circle masonry sitting area, crafted from 1 ½” broken select Bluestone, offers both functionality and aesthetic appeal. A striking pondless water feature introduces movement and tranquility, while a heavy quarry wall stone centerpiece—strategically placed at the front entrance—acts as a powerful visual anchor. Two Monolith Character stones, nestled in a bed of limelight hydrangeas, further reflect the company’s commitment to longevity and strength.
Fast forward two years later and I was yet again in the need for something truly spectacular at a commercial building that we were planning to open a new Sothebys office at in Okemos Michigan. A few things came to mind when we decided to open this brokerage; the first being the outdoor presence needed to be so completely unique and unparalleled that I needed to hire a team of professionals to brainstorm with and create a landscape plan that would wow our ideal customer whether they were simply driving by or they were coming into the office for an appointment; it didn’t take me long to reengage the Naturalist to take on this project yet again . The end product of this second project completed by the Naturalist truly exceeded every expectation we had for the exterior of the building and we couldn’t be more pleased with how it turned out.
The fact that this company has created not one but two masterpieces one residential and one commercial speaks to the testament of the company and the skills, expertise and overall knowledge of the owner Mike Socha. I couldn’t recommend Mike and his company more and we will definitely be referring them out to anyone in need of such unique designs and services that they provide in the future.
