Jeff and Sharon Smith’s Queen Anne Victorian home in downtown Northville required a landscape that was both structurally sound and historically elegant. The project involved excavating 2,000 cubic yards of soil to construct a 260-foot-long retaining wall along Mill Race Pond, creating terraced gardens, oversized quarry stone landings, and natural stone steps that blend seamlessly into the environment.
The walls alone required 110 pallets of hand-selected stone, while Champlain granite veneer from upstate New York was used to complement the home’s architectural charm. Every detail was carefully crafted to enhance the Victorian aesthetic while ensuring timeless durability and beauty.
