Once again, I had the opportunity to collaborate with The Nielson Group to bring a truly unique Italian Tuscan wine cellar to life. Nestled in the Hubbard family’s basement, an oversized storage area was transformed into a masterpiece that exudes the warmth and charm of a traditional Tuscan villa.
One of the most distinctive aspects of this project was the basement’s exceptional ceiling height, which provided Nathan Nielson and his team with ample space to craft intricate woodwork and custom wine racks, elevating the authenticity of the design. Every detail was carefully considered to ensure the space captured the essence of Old World craftsmanship.
The flooring was composed of full-color broken Bluestone, meticulously cut off-site. Each piece was carefully numbered, packaged, and transported before being expertly installed to maintain the integrity of the design. The archways, made from Brown Mosaic Bluestone, add to the depth and character of the space, while the ribbons and bases, also crafted from brown Bluestone, provide a seamless and elegant foundation.
This project was a true testament to precision, craftsmanship, and the power of thoughtful design. The result is a breathtaking wine cellar that transports guests to the heart of Tuscany, offering both functionality and timeless beauty.
