Rob and Beth Buffington wanted an inviting outdoor space where they could unwind with family after long workdays. Their vision was a balance of functionality and refined aesthetics, creating an outdoor kitchen, fire feature, and entertainment space that seamlessly blended with their home’s existing architecture.
The patio features 2” green/blue broken Bluestone with subtle full-color accents, while Brussels limestone walls topped with 2” natural cleft Bluestone rocked caps provide structure and warmth. A gas fire feature, crafted from cultured stone to match the home’s facade, adds ambiance with natural cleft blue/green caps and decorative glass.
Additional features include a Brussels dimensional stone bar area with Nabian green granite countertops, a reinforced hot tub space, and plans for a custom shed roof in 2025 to protect the kitchen components from the elements. This project embodies the perfect blend of beauty and durability, offering an outdoor retreat built to last.
When I decided to build an outdoor kitchen at my house I was really looking for something spectacular and after getting several quotes I was talking through what my vision was with a friend and he recommended a landscaper he had great success with in the past the only concern my buddy had was whether my timeline and the landscapers would align since they were in high demand and weren’t necessarily from the Greater Lansing area. However upon calling Mike from the Naturalist company I soon realized that not only was this the company I wanted to work with but also that I would truly get a masterpiece based on his previously completed projects etc and it would more than be worth the wait. Fast forward to a few days before my youngest daughter’s open house that was being held at our house and lo and behold we had a beautifully finished outdoor kitchen area and we couldn’t have been more elated.
