This towering 17-foot fireplace was designed to make a grand statement while maintaining harmony with the home’s existing architecture. A window positioned in the center of the wall presented a unique challenge—one that was resolved by drywalling over it from the interior, ensuring a seamless aesthetic while preserving the home’s exterior symmetry.
To enhance the fireplace’s depth and presence, we collaborated with Travis from Travco to expertly frame the surrounding walls. Homeowner Melanie selected Laurel Cavern cultured stone for the veneer, which beautifully complements the brown Bluestone legs, rock-faced lintel, and chamfered 1 ½” Bluestone hearth.
Adding character and history, a reclaimed late 1800s barn beam from North Manchester, Indiana, was crafted into the mantle and corbels, infusing the space with authentic rustic charm. The result is a striking focal point that blends historic elements with modern craftsmanship, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
